Ada Kaleh - Unravelling feat. Eric Leeds

When I spoke to Ada, he told me about the length and flow in the way Fela Kuti made music, and I listened to Ada’s over and over and after while I could see the connection between Fela’s beats and Ada’s techno-lensed interpretation of it. In that I started thinking about what Fela’s world would have looked like, the smelled, sound, beat and heat - a truly unique combination.  

This film is created only using words. These words where labouriously crafted by exploring the depths of AI dataset to craft vigenttes of the world around the time of Fela in Lagos, Nigeria. From the clubs, alley ways, streets, bars, dances, police, refineriers, corruption, passion and so much more. All weaved together into one seamless take.
